A premier example of technology aiding natural pain relief, Paingone has used the foundation of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) to move therapy options forward.

By developing the next generation of TENS technology, Paingone has eliminated the features that may have prevented someone from using it. Without the need for sticky gels, entangling wires or pads, the Paingone range makes natural pain relief more accessible.

Having helped over 2 million people in Europe and around the world, the range may be your way towards finding pain relief at home.

What is Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation?

Abbreviated as TENS, the technology is based on the principle of electrical stimulation aiding pain relief. It was a North American neurosurgeon, called Clyde Norman Shealy, who is generally credited for developing the modern TENS unit.

Before his advancement, the history of electrical stimulation used for pain relief dates back millenia. The Roman emperor physician, Scribonius Largus, reported pain relief when he stood on an electrical fish in the year 63 A.D. More recently, TENS has become a worldwide-used technology for natural pain relief. In fact, it has been recommended by the NHS for aiding pain relief to patients who suffer from conditions such as osteoarthritis.

TENS may also help reduce pain for people experiencing:

  • Period cramps
  • pelvic pain caused by endometriosis
  • knee pain
  • neck pain
  • back pain
  • pain caused by sports injuries
  • It may be used during labour

How does it Work

How does it Work

A Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation device, as the name suggests, works by delivering mild electric currents through the skin (transcutaneous). The traditional device is battery operated and comes with sticky pads that you attach to the target region. These pads have electrodes that are connected to the main machine with wires.

When the pads are attached to the affected area you want to relieve pain in, you switch on the device to deliver the current. The stimulation is posited to either prevent pain signals from being transmitted, thus “blocking” the pain, or cause a release of endorphins, a potent pain-relieving substance produced naturally by the body. This can help reduce pain and relax muscles.

Side Effects

The Paingone Pen and other products don’t require the use of drugs or any other material that may cause harm. It has virtually no side effects and can be used as often as needed throughout the day.

WARNING – People with a pacemaker, epilepsy, on blood thining drugs or during pregnancy should not use Paingone Plus.

Where Can it be used on the Body?

The Paingone pen and other Paingone products can be used on various areas of your body where you might experience pain. For example, you can use the range to alleviate discomfort in the:

  • Neck
  • Shoulder
  • Back
  • Legs and arms
  • Muscles
  • Joints, wrists, knees, fingers
  • And many more areas of the body

How to use TENS

The Paingone Pen is TENS technology made simple. The innovative and minimalist design allows you to use the pen directly on the areas you experience pain, just hold down the button for 30 seconds and that’s it.

During this easy-to-use therapy, small electrical TENS impulses are delivered to your skin and surrounding nerves. This may not only intercept pain signals but could also encourage the release of endorphins.

Who Can’t Use Paingone

Paingone is meant to help a wide range of people who may experience mild to severe pain. However, the device is not recommended if you fall into any of the following categories:

  • Children
  • If you have a pacemaker
  • You’re pregnant
  • You have heart rhythm problems
  • You have epilepsy
  • You have sensitive skin, likely to experience irritation, marking or itching after use of the device.

If you’re considering using Paingone or any other TENS device and you have an underlying health condition, it is better that you first consult your GP.

They might be able to help you get a proper referral and provide additional advice or guidelines on how to use it more effectively for your particular needs.
